ecotones.

An ecotone is the area in which one type of ecological regime transitions to another, i.e land to sea, woodland to grassland, etc. This transition can be extremely localised or take place over large areas. Ecotones is a project begun in 2012 which examines these transitions pictorially. Tidal estuaries are of especial interest as they are often the intersection of many species assemblages with marked and highly obvious changes ocurring constantly. The work attempts to examine what is in flux and where passage has taken place: passage of individuals, water, groups/flocks/shoals, air currents, energy.
